Learn Spanish in 3 steps.

Step 1 - KNOW THE PERSONS - Read yesterday’s Post to learn how to conjugate the verbs.

Yo - I

Tu - You

El - He

Nosotros - We

Vosotros or Ustedes in South America - You Plural

Ellos- They

KEY WORDS Goes into the step 1. Key words are: Donde? Where?, Cuando? When?, Por que? why? Que? What? Para que? What for? Cuanto? how Much?…and so on!

Step 2- KNOW THE VERBS- See last post for conjugations

The most important ones are

Querer- Want

Ser- to Be

Estar- To Be

Tener- Have

Amar- Love

Gustar- Like

Comer- Eat

Beber- Drink

Hacer- Do

Ir- Go

Escribir- Write

Leer- Read

Pagar- Pay

Step 3

Words

Aqui- Here

Alla- There

Este- This

Estos- These

Negocio- Store

Frio- Cold

Calor- Hot

Lejos- Far

Cerca- Near

Hambre_ hunger

Sed- Thirst

Baño: Bathroom

Casa- House

COMBINE STEP 1, 2 and 3

For example:

Yo (step 1) tengo (step 2) Hambre (step 3)- I’m Hungry

Tu (step1) estas (step2) aqui (step3) = You are here

El (step1) tengo (step2) frio (step3) = I’m cold (I have cold)

 

Today’s KEY WORDS TO REMEMBER:

DONDE? Where?

Ej.

Donde esta EL baño?

Donde (step1 ) es (step2) LA casa (step3)- Where is the house?

Some articles:

LA feminine its an article for most words that end with A, like, mesa (table), casa (house), silla (chair), Ej. La mesa, la casa, la silla

EL masculine its and article for most words that end with O, like baño (bathroom), piso (floor), Auto (car). Ej. El baño, el piso, el auto.

 

Now you will be able to do basic sentences. =)

    Pretty cleaver method you have with your 3 step system. I have been studying Spanish off and on since 1973 but have not seen it presented in this way. I think you might have something here as a good way to introduce basic Spanish. I assume that somewhere in this lesson series you will cover the difference between estar and ser as they are both used in your “Donde…” example above. I look forward to seeing some more of your posts on learning Spanish.
